Before popping confetti to ring in the new year, we’d like reflect on what a wonderful holiday season it’s been. From Thanksgiving pot luck to our annual Christmas party, we’ve enjoyed the opportunities to gather as a work family to share good times.
Fiesta might be a more appropriate term for our Christmas gathering. We were surrounded by tons awesome food from Petra’s Fresh Mexican Bistro, margaritas and even a piñata. After dinner came the White Elephant gift exchange. The most popular items among the exchange this year were gift-cards from Visa, Total Wine and Starbucks. These didn’t last in one owner’s hands for long.
This time of year brings lots of reasons to celebrate, but even more reasons to give back to the community. We were grateful for two opportunities to come together as a Wieck team and partner with our clients to spread some holiday cheer.
The first was a food drive for Meals on Wheel Inc. of Tarrant County. This organization is best known for delivering daily hot meals to homebound residents, however they also provide shelf-stable items for residents to keep on-hand. We challenged ourselves to bring canned goods over a two week period to donate to Meals on Wheels, and knocked our challenge out of the park. We are gracious for the chance to get involved with this client who carries out an incredible mission year-round.
Secondly, we partnered with our friends at Baylor Scott and White Health to adopt a family to shop for Christmas. We collected donations to fulfill the family of nine’s wish-list, and delivered the items beautifully wrapped to their home. We can all agree that giving gifts is far superior to receiving.
Thank you to our clients, Meals on Wheels Inc. of Tarrant County and Baylor Scott & White Health, for allowing us to be involved in each great cause. We look forward to making these charitable opportunities a Christmas tradition here at Wieck.
